Offsite Manufacture achieve 1.7 million RIDDOR-free hours
A key milestone has been reached at our Offsite Manufacture and welding facilities, where collectively they have worked 1.7 million hours without a RIDDOR incident.
A RIDDOR (reporting of injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences regulations) incident is reported when there have been injuries that result in an employee being off work for seven consecutive days, workplace deaths, and incidents involving members of the public being injured and taken to hospital.
This outstanding safety milestone is a great achievement for the team and is the result of 12 years of dedication and commitment to upholding the strict safety standards of these facilities. Scott Moran, Operations Manager, commented: "I'm really proud of the team and what they have achieved together. From our regular day-to-day briefings and established colleague safety committee to the active use of our Don't Walk By reporting system, our team is committed to keeping themselves and those around them safe. Even though we've reached this prestigious milestone, we will still continue to work hard on our safety culture by embracing new ideas, learning from our people, and improving our safety standards and practices." At NG Bailey, we’ve been proud advocates of offsite manufacturing for over two decades, with a well-deserved reputation as experts in this area.
Offsite Manufacture and its use within the construction sector has evolved, with a greater emphasis on the benefits it brings to our industry, the wider environment, and our business operations.
By utilising offsite manufacturing techniques, it makes construction more sustainable, increases productivity, improves quality, delivers certainty on programme and costs, and dramatically reduces health and safety risks.
Ultimately Offsite Manufacture is Safer, Better, Faster, and Greener!
Congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement, it really showcases our Safety First and Foremost principles in action.
