Armed Forces opportunities

We are a forces-friendly employer and recognise the value that our armed forces personnel, veterans and their families contribute to the country and our communities.

Military veterans, reservists and volunteers are an important part of our team, applying their leadership skills, dedication and work ethic in support of our mission to create exceptional environments for present and future generations.

Our commitment

We are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, which sees us pledge to support the employment of veterans young and old, their spouses and partners, and our colleagues who choose to be members of the Reserve or Cadet Forces.

We are also honoured to hold a Gold Award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme for our work supporting the armed forces community.

Our Strategy

We believe in bringing buildings and infrastructure to life and we know that the benefits of our work will be felt by generations to come.

Through our military strategy, we aim to recruit ex-military personnel who have a breadth of aptitude, skills and training which are transferable and can add real value to our business.

We recognise it can be hard transitioning from service to civilian life and so we offer a great induction to the company, excellent benefits, as well as a wellbeing programme.

We have robust policies in place to support colleagues with spouses, partners or family members who are serving in the armed forces.

What our colleagues have to say

We hear from some of our own armed forces community to see what advice they would offer to those looking to move into a career within our industry, the skills they feel transfer well from their previous forces roles to their current roles, and the support they’ve received from NG Bailey during their time with us so far.
