Our Power Solutions team specialises in electrical design, connections and private electrical projects, providing solutions for connections, power generation, battery storage, standby power, and private network operators.

Major Connections

We are accredited to carry out design and delivery work up to and including 132kV, right through to the point of connection.

Liaising with your local Distribution Network Operator (DNO), we arrange and coordinate the connection to the existing network.

We can also deliver further savings for independent DNO connections.

Grid Connections

Contestable connection works can be carried out by either the DNO or by a National Electrical Registration Scheme (NERS)/Lloyds Register accredited contractor; known as an Independent Connection Provider (ICP).

As an ICP, with full NERS accreditation up to 132kV, we can carry out the following services under the contestable works:

Design works for your new connection
Procure materials and plant for the connection works
Land rights negotiations with third party landowners (if required)
On site trench excavation and duct installation
Public highway trench excavation and duct installation
On site construction of substation buildings and other civil works
Cable installation
Substation plant installation and cold commissioning
On site excavation for jointing bay
Public highway excavation for jointing bay
Testing of assets installed by ICP
Recording of installed assets

Electrical Infrastructure

From initial design to final commissioning and testing, we offer a complete electrical distribution package.

Our engineers have extensive experience in the design and construction of electrical infrastructure distribution systems up to 132kV and we can offer a solution to any electrical infrastructure project.

We cover:

Cable installations - 1kV and 5kV insulation tests, DC pressure tests up to 33kV and VLF cable testing

Transformers - HV & LV winding insulation tests, Winding ratio checks and Bucholz testing

Switchgear - AC pressure testing, Ductor testing, CT’s – Ratio and flick tests, mag curves, VT’s – Ratio and polarity checks and Functionality checks

HV Maintenance

We specialise in the provision of High Voltage Maintenance services to private networks on more than 800 sites across the UK on a 24/7 call out response basis.

We undertake remedial works identified during planned inspection works as well as asset replacement and new installation works.

Our experienced senior authorised 11kV to 66kV engineers will ensure that your contract is successfully managed, serviced and delivered to the best standards.

HV Projects

Our high voltage capability and expertise enables us to offer a full end to end project and maintenance service offering, on systems from 11kV up to 400kV. This includes power generation, transmission and distribution right across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Our maintenance service offering includes routine overhauls of transformers and switchgear at all voltages, power transformer refurbishment, component replacements and upgrades.
