North East Apprenticeship Awards 2024

​Last night saw the North East Apprenticeship Awards take place in Newcastle and we are delighted to confirm that Elize Burn and Kieron Harden were highly commended in their respective categories.

Kieron, Stage 3 Electrical Apprentice, was highly commended for Intermediate Electrical Engineering Apprentice of the Year. Kieron said, “I am incredibly happy to have gained a highly commended award and to be recognised in the region. This reflects the hard work and dedication I've put into my apprenticeship, along with the support from my mentors. It motivates me to continue striving for excellence in my career." 

Elize, Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, was highly commended for the Advanced Apprentice of the Year. Elize said, “I’m so happy, it’s been a great night and double celebration as I passed my early completion today too.” 

The awards recognise and honour the outstanding apprenticeship network that thrives across the North East, so it’s great to see both Elize and Kieron recognised amongst their regional peers. 
 
Jenna Carr, Apprentice Development Partner, said, “Both Elize and Kieron have consistently demonstrated outstanding dedication and performance. Their remarkable achievements include: 
 
• Completing their apprenticeships a full year ahead of schedule 
• Achieving first-time distinctions, unheard of in one of the programmes 
• Showing unwavering motivation and commitment to their personal and professional development, progressing onto further training to support their growth and career aspirations. 
 
These accomplishments are a testament to their hard work, resilience, and the supportive environment at NG Bailey. They have truly gone above and beyond, setting an incredible example for their peers and showcasing the value of high-quality apprenticeships within our organisation.
