Chenay Hussey wins Apprentice of the Year Award

​Congratulations go to Chenay Hussey, Stage 3 Electrical Apprentice, in our London Engineering division, for winning the Choice Training Apprentice of the Year Award on Friday.

Choice Training hosts the annual awards to celebrate and recognise the achievements of their students.

Dave Fox, Electrical Tutor, said: "Chenay has consistently displayed excellence in her studies, showing from day one a strong drive to achieve everything she puts her mind to.

"In every lesson, Chenay pushed herself to be the best she could; she was head and shoulders above her peers, completing her practical work to a high standard and on time. In theory classes, she demonstrated an ability to grasp complex concepts, with her academic performance setting high standards for her peers, encouraging them to aim higher.

"Chenay has been an inspiration to other female apprentices throughout her time at college. She was recently nominated in the ESG Women in Construction competition and finished in a very respectable third, and this has inspired other female apprentices in the college to enter next year. 

"Chenay has demonstrated integrity, perseverance, and a positive attitude, and these attributes have gained her the respect and admiration of both students and staff. She consistently goes above and beyond, showing a genuine passion for learning and relentless pursuit of excellence. Chenay is friendly and respectful and gets on with everyone in her class. She has been a pleasure to teach and was a frontrunner with all judges for this award."

On her award, Chenay said: "I am delighted to have won this award, and throughout my apprentice journey, it has been great knowing both NG Bailey and College have been behind me every step of the way. Even when I doubted myself, they never doubted me. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way; without you all, this award wouldn't have been possible."
