Sellafield SRP project – Electrical and instrumentation works begin
As a Key Delivery Partner (KDP) on Sellafield’s long-term Programme and Project Partners (PPP) framework, we are pleased to announce the commencement of our Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) work on the Sellafield Product and Residue Store Reprocessing Plant (SRP) project.
Once complete, SRP will provide safe storage of special nuclear material for at least 100 years. Our team has now begun installing aspirated pipework and the offsite pre-fabrication of primary bracketry at our newly formed local assembly facility.
The 20-year PPP framework contract was awarded to NG Bailey and other KDP’s (Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick, EJ Parker, and Altrad Babcock) for Sellafield's decommissioning programme, with SRP being one of the first projects to be delivered through the framework.
Led by our Engineering Strategic Projects team, we will deliver the HVAC, Mechanical & Pipework, and Electrical & Instrumentation Frameworks, alongside partnering KDP's. The £7bn framework will deliver multiple new build projects on the Sellafield site in Cumbria.
Lee Bridges, Strategic Project Director, said, “NG Bailey is proud to be part of this vital project, supporting the safe and secure management of nuclear materials at Sellafield. We are fully committed to leveraging our knowledge and prefabrication expertise for the successful completion of this project.”
