Project spotlight – Port of Felixstowe
The Port of Felixstowe, one of the UK’s biggest and busiest container ports, operates a large fleet of HGVs to transport shipping containers across the site. To decrease the carbon impact on the environment, the port invested in more sustainable equipment, including battery powered autonomous trucks.
A project was needed to install new EV infrastructure to power the new vehicles, that included the installation of two 11kV high-voltage substations.
Our Freedom business have been on site for several years managing and carrying out maintenance tasks at the facility. From this relationship, and as part of a wider offering, the EV team was engaged to support the delivery of the project, particularly the electrical installation.
We designed and installed ten new lighting canopies with 8-watt emergency LED fittings. In addition to this, ten 180kW Nebula charge points were installed.
With a true end-to-end EV offering and two organisations working together, NG Bailey delivered a full turnkey solution to the Client.
