BSE apprentice Harry makes H&V News Awards shortlist
It is great news today for Building Services Engineer apprentice Harry Playfair who has been shortlisted in the Apprentice of the Year category at the prestigious annual H&V News Awards.
The awards are an annual celebration of excellence and cover the entire heating, ventilation and air conditioning building services supply chain. Harry, who is about to enter the third year of his Building Services Engineering apprenticeship, is one of the team working on the Our Town Hall project at Manchester Town Hall, the largest heritage restoration project currently taking place in the UK.
Since joining NG Bailey, Harry has also worked on the CityLabs project but has gained most of his experience on the Manchester Town Hall project. Explaining why she nominated Harry, his manager Reanna Taylor said: "Harry is an outstanding ambassador for apprentices across the industry. During the two shorts years that Harry has here, his professionalism and enthusiasm has really stood out.
"Harry keeps up to date with the latest innovation and technology through Continuous Professional Development and he reports back to the team on innovations and helps implements new ways of working to enable the team to be more cohesive and effective, this is not something we expect from our second-year apprentices!
"His enthusiasm extends far beyond his day-to-day roles, he is a role model to the apprentices coming through the business and is an advocate for apprenticeships. He is usually the first to volunteer his time to lead talks to school groups to highlight the opportunities in the Building Services Industry. He also volunteers within the local homeless shelter and is an active STEM Ambassador."
Best of luck Harry, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for you!
