Success at CIBSE Yorkshire Awards

Congratulations to our North East, Yorkshire and Scotland Engineering team who celebrated success at the CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers) Yorkshire Region Awards taking home the top prize for the Project of the Year.

The award was made for our work on Grosvenor House a landmark development in Sheffield which is now home to HSBC. NG Bailey provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services to the seven-storey development.

Our Offsite Manufacture facility worked with our engineering teams to develop bespoke MEP service module solutions that enabled the fast-track project to be delivered within tight timescales. With 18% of the mechanical and electrical works delivered offsite we were able to significantly reduce congestion and vehicle movements around the busy city centre development.

The project was also an opportunity for 11 NG Bailey apprentices to experience first-hand how early engagement and modern construction practices are transforming the industry. As part of the project, 12 work experience placements were also created, two of which resulted in permanent employment.

The project achieved BREEAM Very Good and LEED silver.
